Day 6: Pick up from hotel for jungle drive to the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve and caving adventure to Acton Tunichil Mohnal, a Mayan archaeological site including skeletons, ceramics, and stoneware. We venture underground, following a subterranean river through cracks, crevices, holes, tunnels, and boulders to the far end of the chamber that holds the main attraction, The Crystal Maiden. Negotiate back out a cave for transport to San Ignacio, a night at hotel.
Day 7: Day trip to the ancient Mayan city of Tikal in Guatemala. Tour leaves at 7:30 am and returns at 5 pm. Your tour guide is with you the whole way to fill you in on the area's history and answer questions. At the border, you will be assisted through all the stamping and fees by your guide. At the site, breakfast will be available before the tour starts.

Time will rewind a thousand years for the next three and a half hours. You'll hear the howler monkeys echoing off the temples and the spider monkeys swinging tree to tree. Tikal is host to toucans, coatimundi, and a million other creatures great and small. Ruins will rise before you as they did in the days of antiquity like a stairway to heaven, as you follow in the footsteps of the ancients. Return transport to San Ignacio, night in the hotel.
Day 8: Transfer to Belmopan or Belize city for a flight out.
