Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu
Arrive at Kathmandu Airport and check-in to hotel. Our local guide will give a description of the activity schedule upon setting up. In the afternoon you can get some rest or taking a walking tour around town. Later in the evening we’ll go out for Nepali dinner coupled with live folk dance performances. Transfer back to hotel afterwards for the night.
Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour
After Breakfast, a sightseeing tour to one of Kathmandu’s most famous Hindu Temples and surroundings called the Pashupatinath Temple and then to the historical city of Bhaktapur and Patan. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu, Nepal, to Lhasa, Tibet (3680m)
We’ll transfer you to Nepal airport after breakfast for your flight to Lhasa. This is one of the most breathtaking days of your Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan adventure. In the most scenic flight you’ll ever experience, flying over the Himalayan mountains, you land at Gongar Airport in Lhasa. Our Tibetan guide will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. Overnight at hotel in Lhasa.
Day 4: Lhasa Sightseeing Tour
Our tour in Tibet starts in the morning as we leave for Jokhang Temple after breakfast. Jokhang Temple is one of the most famous temples in Tibet and bears a remarkable history. After some time sightseeing the great Jokhang Temple, we leave for Barkhor Street and the Drepung Monastery. Overnight at a hotel in Lhasa.
Day 5: Lhasa Sightseeing Tour
Today we will visit the incredible Potala Palace, Lhasa’s premier landmark and a wonder of Eastern architecture. Potala Palace was once home to Dalai Lama and has existed since the fifth century. Afterwards we will visit the great Sera Monastery. Overnight at a hotel in Lhasa.
Day 6: Lhasa – Gyantse – Shigatse
Today we leave for another prehistoric city of Tibet, Gyantse. Along the drive to Gyantse the dramatic scenery offers panoramic views, traversing Khamba La Pass and Yamdrok Lake. We stop to visit Gyantse Khumbum and then to Shigatse to see the Tashilunpo Monastery [3900m]. Overnight at a hotel in Shigatse.
Day 7: Shigatse – Shegar (4300m)
The view of this wilderness highland offers phenomenal panorams as we bypass along the Friendship Highway, regarded as one of the most spectacular landscapes in Tibet. After passing through the small city of Lhatse, we cross the great Gyamtso La, which is the longest pass of our journey. The land quickly falls after Gyamtso (5220m.). On the way through the plains you’ll see various isolated Monasteries, a tranquil countryside and nomatic herders. After the long day, overnight at the hotel in Shegar.
Day 8: Shegar – Rongbuk – Everest Base Camp – Rongbuk (5000m)
Today you’ll gaze upon the great Mount Everest from eye level. We’ll drive from Shegar to Rongbuk (8 km) and then walk or take a bus from Rongbuk to Everest Base Camp, the most demanding part of the trip. After Everest Base Camp we’ll drive back to Rongbuk for dinner and hotel.
Day 9: Rongbuk – Zhangmu (2300)
From Rongbuk we travel to Zhangmu, providing views of incredible and dramatic scenery on the famed Friendship Highway. We’ll stay the night in Zhangmu. The total distance between these two places is 246 km. Zhangmu is situated at an altitude of 2300m above sea level.
Day 10: Zhangmu – Kathmandu (1350m)
After our breakfast, we leave for Kodari at the Nepal-Tibet border. We will be said goodbye by our Tibetan drivers and guides as we move back across the Nepalese border and meet with our Nepal guides which will help with all immigration formalities. Afterward crossing we continue our drive to Kathmandu (123 km.). Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel.
Day 11: Kathmandu – Paro – Thimpu (2320m)
Taking a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Paro in Bhutan, we step off the plane and are escorted by our Bhutanese guide to Paro for lunch. After lunch, we’ll visit Ta Dzong, an antique watchtower that is now The National Museum. Afterwards we travel to Rinpung Dzong, a Buddhist monastery and fortress built in the 17th century for protection against invaders. In the afternoon we will head off to Thimpu, the capital city of Bhutan where we’ll spend the night.
Day 12: Thimpu Sightseeing Drive to Punakha (1310m)
Thimpu has a population of around 66,000, which is made up of just three lines of shops and is the only capital in the world with no traffic lights. In the evening, we’ll visit the Handicrafts Emporium. It is the only place in Thimpu where all types of Bhutanese handicrafts are sold and made. Afterwards we drive to Punakha from Thimpu over the Dochu La pass witnessing even more striking scenery along the way. In Punakha we tour Punakha Dzong and Wangdi Dzong. Overnight in Punakha.
Day 13: Punakha – Paro (2250m)
In the morning we drive to Paro. On the way, we make a trip to the oldest Dzong (fortress monastery) in Bhutan, the Simtokha Dzong. In the afternoon, we will visit the National Museum, Satsam Chorten Monastery and Paro Dzong. Overnight at a hotel in Paro.
Day 14: Paro
Today we go to see the sights of the Taktsang Monastery, the most famous monastery on the cliffs of Bhutan. It is also known as ‘Tiger’s Nest’ Monastery. The trek up to the viewpoint will take around two hours and from there you can take delight from the spectacular views of the monastery adhering to the side of a sheer cliff. Afterward we return to the hotel and relax. You can also travel around the Paro marketplace. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.
Day 15: Paro – Kathmandu
This is the last day of our tour. You will be transferred to Paro Airport for our departure flight back to Kathmandu in the morning. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel or take an onward flight.
